Fabulous Big Headed Smiler with Dancing Boots red tongue I would guess it was

I would guess it was made in the mid-20th century and believe it was made in Benin

with no splits or cracks and arms still rotate

I really love them just as drawings and would be inclined to mount and frame them in small groupings--but if viewed through an old stereograph one could experience the 3-dimensional effect of the merger of each pair of images

just a bit of irregularity to the surface of the stone

I would assume this head was originally attached to a torso complete with arms and legs, but I really don't know for sure. Whatever the case, I think the large smiling head joined by pins through metal posts to the primitively carved, dark red painted boots now is quite perfect, and the heels on those boots to my eye at least impart him with the feel to me of a cowboy, and a dancing one at that.
